Reindeers got their brushes wet during theme time this week. For 'Wind & Rocks' theme, we made a DIY Recycled Wind Chime. We had fun and I learned not to give them water for their brushes... haha.

Here's a fun version recorded by the amazing Harry Belafonte.

Old-Timey Interviews with Jack and Kick Kennedy - SIPS
This month, some of our students read "John F. Kennedy and the Stormy Sea," part of Simon & Schuster's Ready to Read: Childhood of Famous Americans series.
The story follows John and his sister Kathleen (Jack and Kick) on a pleasure cruise turned harrowing adventure at sea. The students were tasked with taking on the role of a reporter to ask the two Kennedys about their journey and their lives in general. They used information from the story and their imaginations to decide how Jack and Kick would have answered. They also took turns in character as Jack or Kick to help answer their classmates' questions on camera. Here are a few of the resulting interviews. Enjoy!
Julia M. interviewing Jack (read by Jamie) and Kick (read by Julia L.)
Daniel interviewing Jack (read by Sean)
Yobin interviewing Kick (read by Yi-Won)
Great job, everyone!

설리번스쿨 뮤직수업-Music Class Theme Songs for Lights & Sounds
This week Koala, Reindeer and Kangaroo classes will be learning about the colors of the rainbow (the color spectrum) through the song Roy G. Biv by They Might Be Giants.
Meanwhile, Dolphin, Panda, Giraffe and Elephant classes--who learned Roy G. Biv last year--will move on to a more challenging exploration of how the sun's light is created. They'll be singing another They Might Be Giants song: Why Does the Sun Really Shine?
